This could require you to make changes to your site and your operational policies to comply with the new law.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What is GDPR?<\/strong><br \/>\nAs of May 25, 2018, the EU&#8217;s General Data Protection Regulation will begin to enforce strict\u00a0new\u00a0regulations\u00a0on Personally Identifying Information (PII) and data security, called GDPR, (<b>General Data Protection Regulation).\u00a0<\/b>EU-based\u00a0or multinational corporations that do business in the EU are likely in compliance with GDPR as of today. But U.S. companies like yours also need to take note of the new law and guidelines.<\/p>\n<p>Article 3 of the GDPR says that if you collect personal data or behavioral information from someone\u00a0<em>in<\/em>\u00a0an EU country, your company is subject to the requirements of the GDPR. The law only applies if the data subjects&#8211;consumers&#8211;that are in the EU when the data is collected.<\/p>\n<p>If the organization collects any &#8220;personal data&#8221; then the data would have to be protected within the GDPR guidelines.<\/p>\n<p><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-2834 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/greenixmedia.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/05\/general-data-protection-regulation.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"750\" height=\"422\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>What does this mean for you?<\/strong><br \/>\nYour business should look at the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/click.icptrack.com\/icp\/relay.php?r=21252404&amp;msgid=618987&amp;act=S5TF&amp;c=546005&amp;destination=https%3A%2F%2Fen.wikipedia.org%2Fwiki%2FGeneral_Data_Protection_Regulation\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">GPDR regulations<\/a> and determine if any changes should be made to your website (i.e. forms, privacy policy) or with your operating procedures should you have EU residents complete any form that takes their personal information (name, email, etc.)<\/p>\n<p>If you are not able to do this immediately and you fall under these regulations, a quick fix for businesses not actively seeking European customers is to block traffic from EU Nations.<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Please Note:<\/u>\u00a0We do not believe any additional changes are required on any of our customer websites as of today.
